Kahn Morbee (The Parlotones frontman) has always wanted to someday make his own wine.
‘Hands on Wine’ read about this and saw an opportunity to turn a dream into an exciting new ground breaking product.
Both parties met and the initial excitement led to some ‘serious wheels being put in motion’. Allan Mullins (Cape Wine Master) and Pieter Walser (www.blankbottle.co.za) were commissioned to help the band find some of the absolute best pockets of wine in the Cape and……Giant Mistake in a bottle was born!
Much like a band comes together to create something greater than the individual parts, this wine is a blend of 4 cultivars which together creates something extraordinary. The focus in making the wine is on quality and the product expected to be available, on Woolworth’s shelves, in July.
"I feel that wine is often associated with romance and the romantisism in The Parlotones lyrics makes this combination ideal. I would describe ‘Giant Mistake’ as a wine where sophistication meets creativity." Kahn Morbee The Parlotones do not want to reveal TOO much about the wine at this stage, but say they can promise fans that they will not be disappointed – The Wine will be available at Woolworths end July.
A short film about the wine will be available online once the wine has been released.
