About 2 months ago 2 people rocked up at the cellar. They are both producers for a South African film company and were scouting for a location to shoot a winelands-based big screen film… I find this intriguing, the people one randomly meets while all pursuing some sort of love or interest. This sometimes leads to opportunities, doing things you never thought possible and telling stories you never thought you would.
So, this coming Monday I’ll be filmed playing a (veeery small) role in a South African big screen movie. And yes, I auditioned for it – well not exactly that role. I auditioned for another role, a really big one, but they then offered me the small role. Now the dog has caught its tail and I am nervous.
This weekend I will be practicing my words and drawing inspiration from my most recent acting experience – playing lead role in a high school play 21 years ago.
And off course you can expect a wine from this. “Casting for One and becoming another”…or something along those lines.
