Shiraz 2004
Origin Stellenbosch
Volume: 2100 Bottles (6 barrels)
Tasting notes:
Deep, dark cherry-red colour with inviting aromas of spice and wild berry fruit, complemented by smoky flavours on a smooth full bodied palate.
A versatile wine partnered well with beef, fillet, lamb, venison, smoked gammon and exotic cheeses.
The wine has very soft tannins and is ready for immediate consumption, with good ageing potential (8 to 10 years).
The grapes came from a very good block of Shiraz on the slopes of the Helderberg facing False Bay. This is a typical cool climate Shiraz. After fermentation in Stainless steel tanks the wine was aged for 14 months in 50 % French and 50 % American oak barrels. After final blending the wine was bottled on 6 September 2005.
Analysis:
