The PINK BOMB 2015A solid 14.5% alcohol Rose, please do not judge the wine by it's alcohol... It is on the high side but the wine is in 100% balance. Fresh as a daisy. Ceres Plateaux Syrah, Grenache from the Swartland and a bit of Cinsaut. The Story
It all started in 2011 with one German, the Hinterhofkabuff and a 2010-Stellenbosch-cast-away-in-the-corner red wine called THE BOMB. With a alcohol of 16.24 I thought the wine had no future. Boy was I wrong. My South African clients, the Swiss and the Germans were onto that wine like a pure bred Strand residents onto a green hatchback Ford Sierra. It sold at the speed of lightning. The 2011 went down the same route and I am now contemplating the bottling of a V-powered 2018.
Anyhow; Mid 2012 my phone rang and a German accent from Frankfurt said: "Pieter, I need a white bomb"... Pieter: "a white what?????" German voice: "a high octane white wine that is over the top in every aspect of wine, yet balanced". In other words - much like a silver Belville CY registered 1995 Honda ballade, with low profile hancoocks, old man emo shocks, florescent shashi lighting, dropped bucket seats and a knight rider steering wheel - everything in over-abundance.
And then another call.... Yes, you guessed it, a PINK BOMB! Ceres Plateaux Syrah, Grenache from the Swartland and a bit of Cinsaut.
