South African Port 2007 from Hemel and Aarde valley, a blend of Tinta Barocca and Pinotage.

The Story:

It was what other people might describe as a miserable Wednesday morning. The first waves of a new swell entered False bay and the howling North West wind smashed raindrops against our bedroom window. It's days like this that I kick myself for not making Port. So I did what every responsible parent should do on days like that. I loaded a 300 liter stainless steel tank on the back of my bakkie and headed over Sir Lowries pass on the search for great Port. Late the afternoon I returned with a full 300 liter tank. Home consumption was the first idea, but halfway into my first litre I realised that I would need some help. And that's where you come in. I bottled the lot, designed a lable and now that the winter is suppose to be finished, I am ready to share it. A blend of Tinta Barocca and Pinotage. AWESOME!!
