My Koffer 2012

My TAS = MY KOFFER... A 100% Cinsaut from the BREEDEKLOOF - My version of old style Tassenberg, the way I WANT to remember it.

The Story:

This wine represents a picture in my mind of what the first bottle of Tassenberg tasted like way back in 1995. The first bottle of wine I bought with my own money (R3.50) at Western Province liquors. It took almost 2 decades to find the right vineyard to produce this wine. High up on the mountains in between Worcester and Ceres, these 15 year old vines produce grapes which transforms into a super-extreme elegant, yet complex red berry spice. At the moment the most expensive Cinsaut in SA and with the 2011 (first vintage) receiving 93 points out of 100 from wine writer Tim Atkin in his South African wine report.
